It was great to see the club back up and running. The underground tunnel and cave idea was awesome!! How did you get approval for that?

Re: Amazing Larry's was so awesome this year!!
Fri, September 29, 2006 - 2:23 PMBetter to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission.
And, to nobody's great surprise, when the other Larry (Harvey, not Amazing) eventually showed up, he was totally supportive of our efforts. About the only expression of concern on his part was a brief aside to me in which he quietly asked "you do, of course, have some, some... plan to make this all go away?" to which I replied simply with "It's all taken care of." Then it was back to drinking and jazz.
(Though I will say I'm /very/ glad he and his date left before the side entrance tunnel half-collapsed. You weren't there for that, were you Jiri?) -

Sun, October 1, 2006 - 9:52 AMIf that was that tunnel over by the artwork that looked like that thing on the other side by the stuff that was later moved over next to that art car that was there for a few minutes then I knw right about where you were. I think a Hyster might have driven over the spot where the tunnel started, at least once...
Remember to move it a little to the left and a mile to the south next year.

Re: Amazing Larry's was so awesome this year!!
Sun, October 1, 2006 - 3:48 PMNo, I heard all about it though. I'm glad no one was hurt. Seems to have been quite a panic though. I've never seen anyone so playa-coated as when Joshie and Eric C. got back to camp after digging Sista W. out! They said it was awesome even though, at the time, they thought they might die.
I've been reading a bit about gold-rush-era mining and related tunnel support systems for next year. I think if we stick to 19th century technology this time, we won't have to worry about "keeping it green".
